About the Author - John Niccoli
Author BiographyJohn Niccoli was born and raised in Long Beach, NY. He collected cards throughout his childhood, and has never stopped. As a teenager, card collecting was just a hobby. He had fun collecting cards of his childhood heroes playing for the NY Jets, NY Mets, NY Knicks and NY Rangers. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Masters Degree in Engineering, and a minor in economics. As he entered adulthood, most of his thoughts of having fun with card collecting were replaced with thoughts of making money. He attended and sold at weekend sports card shows for years. He has regularly bought and sold cards on eBay, he was an eBay Power Seller, and he has feedback from over 2000 different card buyers and sellers. This book captures his experience from 25 years of card collecting. Over the years, he noticed that the price that collectors pay for cards does not always make sense. Some rare and early cards of great players were affordable. Meanwhile, some plentiful cards of unproven players were expensive. He used this information as the foundation for identifying underpriced and overpriced cards in todays marketplace. Today, he lives in McKinney, Texas (a suburb of Dallas) with his wife Michelle, and children Ben and Julia... and he owns one awesome sports card collection. |
